Self-Care During Self-Distancing for Mothers (Free Apps)
Labels: Blog , self-careSunday, March 22, 2020
We are all feeling the effects of social distancing. I know as mothers, this is hard; some of us do not know where our income is going to come from; some of us are still working and worried about bringing the virus home. We are all playing the part we can to help our family and community. However, in this hard time, I do not want you to forget about you. This is even more important if you are like me and live with mental illness. As mothers, we are a critical part of the system, and if we are drained, we have nothing to give.
I have been feeling the impact my anxiety wants everything to be just so, and that cannot happen right now. I know I am not the only one who is feeling this. This was not a planned post, but I felt I needed to write it. Given the stress and anxiety created by the spread and prevention steps of COVID-19, it is more important now than ever to take small steps in care for yourself. The practice of self-care, over time, builds resilience and can give stress relief in these trying times.
